Empowering Refugee Women in Derby | The Christmas Challenge 2023

It’s a big week here at Upbeat Communities.

From midday on Tuesday 28th November, until midday on Tuesday 5th December 2023, every donation made to us will be DOUBLED!

This means we’ll be able to empower more women like Gabriela, Lucia, Edith and Celestine. We’ve changed their names to protect their identities, but you can hear their voices telling their stories of how they found community and hope through our women’s group.

So far this year at Upbeat, 176 refugee women have come through our doors, needing community; support through the after-effects of trauma; empowerment in parenting, language skills and employment; practical things like clothing and meals; and so much more.

It is our privilege to support these women to be the amazing mothers, sisters, care-givers, survivors, defenders, peace-makers, protectors and friends that they may be.

But we need your help. In order to continue this life-changing work, we need to raise £19,500 this week to fund our women’s and children’s work. Can you help? Every donation made before midday on 5th December will be DOUBLED.
