Upbeat Communities is a charity that supports refugees and asylum seekers in Derby.

How can Upbeat Communities help me?

Upbeat Communities can support you as you settle in to life in the UK. We can support you if you live in a house, a hotel, or a hostel in Derby.

  • We teach free English classes

  • We run a free support group for women only where you can make friends

  • We run a free table tennis group where you can play table tennis

  • We provide free meals Monday-Friday

  • We can help you register with a doctor or dentist, register your children in school, or find any other help you might need

Below is a timetable showing our activities. You are welcome to come and join in! There is no need to book. Our address is: Trinity Baptist Church, Green Lane, Derby, DE1 1RZ.

Please note we will be closed from 24th December 2024—2nd January 2025. We will be open as normal from Friday 3rd January 2025, but then we will be closed 8th-10th January 2025 because our staff team are away on some training.
